Croft's Fine Ruby Port
Our favorite ruby port is made by Croft, one of the most well-known names in port wine. This port is carefully blended from Douro Valley grapes that are known for their rich colors and fruit forward flavors. Though ruby ports are often moved to neutral containers, such as stainless steel vats, after fermentation, Croft's ruby port is barrel aged for just three years, giving it a complexity that many other rubies lack. The nose of this port is very fruity, with blackberry and dark plum notes. The palate also accentuates the fruity side of port wine, with red berries, spiced cherry, and ripe plum flavors. Thanks to the port's time in the barrel, the finish also has notes of smoke, spice, and black licorice.
